The membership fee for the Seniors Club is $5 per calendar year (due each December) for financial North Ryde RSL Club members.
Organised activities are:
Cards Second Monday of each month. Arrive at Bowls Room 9.30 am for a 9.45 am start. Mostly rummy-based card games. Optional lunch follows at 12.00 pm.
Golf Third Tuesday of each month. 07.15am for 07.25am tee-off at Barnwell Park Golf Course, a fairly easy golf course, followed by optional lunch at the North Ryde RSL at 12.00 pm. Green fees are $21.
Indoor Sports First Monday of each month. Social indoor (carpet) bowls and darts. Arrive at the Bowls Room at 9.45 am for a 10am start. Optional lunch at 12.00 pm.
Lawn Bowls (Mixed) Last Tuesday of each month. For all levels of ability (regular bowlers, occasional bowlers, and novices). Bowls can be borrowed if you don't have a set. Flat-soled shoes required. $5 green fee plus $1 towards the winning team prize. Meet at 9.45 am in the Bowls room. Optional lunch follows at 12.00 pm. See Seniors Noticeboard.
Horse Races Monthly. Meet in the Club's entrance foyer and pay there. Travel by coach to either Hawkesbury or Wyong Race Clubs. The cost of $30 covers return coach trip, entry to the racecourse and reserved seating in the members stand. Enter our tipping competition, and if you wish lay down a few bets (TAB or SP bookies). Swimming Every Friday at Bilgola Beach via car-pooling in the warmer months (October – March).
Table Tennis Every Thursday, 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm in the Youth Club, followed by optional friendly afternoon tea or coffee in the Club after the game each week.
Tai Chi Every Monday morning during school terms. From 9.30 am in the Youth Club. Term fees are $60 and are to be paid to the Membership Office.
Tennis Every Friday morning. Mixed tennis for all levels of ability. Doubles (eight games per set). From 9.00 am to 12.00pm at the Club's courts. Optional lunch once per month at 12.00 pm.
Theatre Usually each month, either at the Willoughby Theatre, Chatswood, or Hunters Hill Theatre. There is optional transport from the Club to and from the theatre for $5. See Seniors Noticeboard for full year's program and cost.
Trips & Events (Day and overnight trips). According to interest. Normally there are several day trips per year (e.g. Georges River Cruise, Royal Motor Yacht Club, Broken Bay, Nepean River BBQ, Bundeena, Berowra Waters cruise, Mystery Coach tours and BBQ, Ferry Trips, Berry-Gerroa-Gerringong, Palm Beach to Ettalong ferry trip, Central Coast), as well as some overnight trips (e.g. Christmas-in-July, Melbourne Cup cruise, Moreton Bay cruise, Hunter Valley Christmas Lights).Seniors Annual Party in the Grand Pittwater Room at the end of September, and the Combined Activities Christmas Party in December in the Auditorium. Walks Second Friday of each month. To various locations via public transport (e.g. Lavender Bay, Cockatoo Island, Coogee-Maroubra, Watsons Bay-Dover Heights, Cremorne Point, Collaroy-Dee Why, Balls Head, Parramatta Park, Mosaman Bay to Taronga Zoo). Have morning tea and lunch together. See Seniors Noticeboard.
Mahjong (Western Style) Every Tuesday of the month. Meet at 12.45pm until app.3.00pm near the Marble Bar on the upper Heritage side. The Instructor is Jan Taylor, Ph: 0407 101 850
